In these pages you will learn all sorts of cool things about horses and about my GrandPa's 'Less Is More' Natural Horsemanship philosophy.

My Grandpa and Nanna are also teaching me about learning how to be partners with dogs. I am learning about natural dog handling too.

I am 7 years old and I have a 7/8ths Arabian mare that I ride. She is my partner and her name is "Topaz".

I think she is the best horse in the whole world. Yeah!!!

My GrandPa and my Nanna have been teaching me to ride bareback and with no bits since I was 2 1/2 years old.

My Grandpa taught me that we can't train or teach horses to do anything. They already know how to do everything that a horse is supposed to do.

There are horses all over the world. Each horse is different but they all speak the same language and thats what makes it easier for us when we are around any horse.

Since each horse is different, and we really can't train or teach them to do anything, then horses and humans have to "learn together' how to get along and how to get certain things done. Every time I need to learn how to do something new, my partner "Topaz" and I learn how to do it together. She may already know how to do it, but I don't, so we learn together how to trust each other, how to respect each other and how to communicate with each other so we can be better partners.

Me and "Topaz" on my 6th birthday. This is the day that Grandpa handed me the lead rope and told me to go get my horse...as my birthday present, he took me trail riding. It was the first time that I actually rode "Topaz" all by myself on the trail instead of riding double with Grandpa or Nanna.
